Thunderbird Molding

Overview

The Welder will be responsible for fabricating and welding complex components using advanced techniques and tools. Thunderbird is a family of American Manufacturing companies focused on providing superior products and services, driven by a mission to meet the needs of global customers.

Responsibilities

• Read and comprehend blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications to plan the fabrication process.
• Precisely measure, mark, and cut metal pieces using equipment such as plasma cutters, shears, and band saws.
• Fabricate components by laying out, fitting, and assembling parts to create larger components or structures.
• Perform welding using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
• Weld all types of metals including stainless.
• Perform quality checks to ensure welds and fabricated parts meet specifications and safety standards.
• Clean, grind, and polish finished welds and surfaces for a smooth finish.
• Perform routine maintenance on welding machines, hand tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear.
• Use material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes to move parts and materials.
• Travel as required.

Requirements

• 2+ years of welding fabrication experience.
• Strong understanding of different welding processes and fabrication techniques.
• Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and weld symbols.
• Experience with a variety of hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication machinery.
• Strong basic math skills for accurate measurements and layouts.
• Meticulous attention to detail for ensuring quality and precision.
• Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy objects and standing for long periods.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly.
