Overview

The Senior Micro-Electronics Assembler position in Torrance, CA, offers an hourly wage of $25.00-$35.00 based on experience and qualifications. The role involves performing assembly, troubleshooting, and documentation updates for microwave assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Perform works from specifications, drawings, blueprints, test procedures, data sheets, and instructions independently.
• Conduct mechanical assembly for housing fabrication of HI-REL channel amplifiers.
• Execute MIC assembly tasks including brazing, die attach, wedge-wedge bonding, and gap welding.
• Support testing for electrical changes for tuning purposes.
• Demonstrate exceptional skills in brazing, die attach, wedge-wedge bonding, and gap welding processes.
• Work under a microscope for extended periods.
• Interpret job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings for electronics assembly.
• Perform inspections to ensure assemblies meet or exceed standards.
• Disassemble, modify, rework, and reassemble assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications.
• Conduct basic troubleshooting with or without guidance from the Engineering team.
• Serve as primary trainer for the defined area and assist in other trainings as required.
• Build the majority of high complexity part numbers/processes as determined by the department’s leadership team.
• Continuously meet/exceed production schedules and deadlines according to quality standards.
• Maintain logs, paperwork, and forms accurately consistent with company policy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Requirements

• 10+ years in high-volume, microwave or high technology experience.
• At least 7 years of experience in brazing, die attach, wedge-wedge bonding, and gap welding processes.
• IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, MIL-STD-2000, NASA-STD-8739.3, or equivalent certifications.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and detailed work instructions.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills: interpersonal, oral, and written.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks/projects.
• Basic computer data input skills.
• General knowledge of mechanical assembly processes and procedures.

Additional Information

• This is an hourly position governed by the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America (Local 721) Collective Bargaining agreement.
