Overview

CHM Industries, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of steel monopole and advanced lighting products, providing quality products designed and manufactured in the United States. The Structural Detailer is responsible for creating and maintaining engineering drawings, 3D models, and manufacturing documentation for steel structures and related products.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D models, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, erection drawings, and shop documentation using CAD software.
• Develop and maintain catalog drawings, standard drawings, and product libraries for existing and new products.
• Prepare complete drawing packages including bills of material (BOMs), fabrication details, weld symbols, hardware schedules, and assembly instructions.
• Review engineering calculations, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure drawings accurately reflect the approved design.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineering comments, checker markups, customer revisions, manufacturing feedback, and engineering change requests (ECRs).
• Verify dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, weld requirements, connection details, and manufacturing information for accuracy and completeness.
• Perform basic engineering and geometric calculations to validate drawing dimensions, fit-up requirements, clearances, and manufacturing tolerances.
• Identify potential design, fabrication, or assembly concerns and proactively communicate recommendations to Engineering and management.
• Assist in maintaining drawing standards, drafting procedures, templates, and best practices.

Requirements

• Proficient in SolidWorks.
• Proven work experience as a CAD Technician.
• Strong knowledge of CAD software and drafting procedures.
• Excellent technical design skills.
• Ability to meet strict deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field.
