Overview

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to support the airline in-service fleet on aircraft structure repairs, focusing on creating quality repair solutions in a timely manner. The role involves collaboration with colleagues in static stress and fatigue to develop efficient repair solutions that meet airworthiness requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Create high quality integrated and certified engineering repair solutions for airlines and internal customers.
  • Review and interpret damage reports of aircraft structures and develop quality repair solutions.
  • Collaborate with F&DT, Stress, and other Airbus departments to develop optimum design solutions.
  • Apply extensive technical expertise and knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Lead small teams technically to achieve agreed milestones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Engineering (Aero, Civil, Mechanical) with emphasis on structural design and analysis.
  • Minimum nine (9) years total experience in design with airframe structures.
  • Experience in composite airframe structures.
  • MRO/Fleet Engineering experience; MRB Experience.
  • Strong computer background, including MS Excel and Google Suite applications.
  • Ability to obtain Repair Approval Technical Signatory and utilize Repair Solution Signatory effectively.
  • Capable of working independently and in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
