Overview

The Structural Welder position involves following customer specifications and engineering drawings to assemble and weld components using various welding techniques. The role requires collaboration with engineering staff and adherence to quality and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Follow customer specifications and engineering drawings to gather materials and weld components.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts together using MIG, gas welding, and arc welding processes.
  • Install specialized parts on enclosures and bases using cutting, welding, and grinding tools.
  • Examine welds for appropriate size, quality, and precision.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and rewelding as needed.
  • Operate crane or lifting equipment to position components for work.
  • Work with engineering staff to clarify information and obtain design changes.
  • May operate a forklift to move materials and supplies.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Follow established safety guidelines.
