Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fabricator to build and assemble natural gas compression units in a heavy manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on position for someone with strong fabrication and welding skills who is also mechanically inclined and comfortable turning wrenches when needed.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble skid-mounted natural gas compression units.
• Perform MIG, Flux-Core, and/or Stick welding as required.
• Fit, align, tack, and weld structural components, piping supports, brackets, and other equipment.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings, blueprints, schematics, and measurements.
• Lay out, cut, fit, and fabricate steel and other materials.
• Install and assemble mechanical components and equipment.
• Use hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and other fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist mechanics and other fabrication personnel with installation and assembly activities.
• Turn wrenches and perform mechanical work when required.
• Install, remove, adjust, and troubleshoot mechanical components as part of the unit-building process.
• Work around engines, compressors, piping, valves, coolers, and other components associated with gas compression packages.
• Inspect completed work to ensure proper fit, alignment, weld quality, and overall workmanship.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other fabrication, welding, mechanical, and shop duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 3+ years of fabrication, welding, mechanical, or industrial manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience building or assembling heavy industrial equipment strongly preferred.
• Oil & gas or natural gas compression experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability and willingness to perform mechanical assembly and maintenance work.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and fabrication equipment.
• Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a fabrication team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing environment and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and willing to take on a variety of responsibilities.

• Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
