Overview

The Fabrication Field Tech performs field fabrication, welding, and mechanical repairs to ensure customer equipment operates safely and reliably. This position focuses on mobile rock crushing equipment, conveyors, and related systems, working directly at customer sites to minimize downtime and provide responsive technical service.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and tear down customer equipment.
• Install components for new builds, including catwalks, liners, chutes, and related structures.
• Repair cracked, broken, and damaged equipment in the field.
• Operate welding equipment, truck cranes, torches, plasma cutters, and related tools.
• Diagnose field problems and determine effective repair solutions.
• Communicate professionally with customers and provide updates regarding work being performed.
• Complete quality work while maintaining a safe and organized job site.
• Serve as a team lead when needed and help coordinate field work.

Requirements

• 3+ years of welding/fabrication experience required; more experience is preferred.
• Strong stick-welding skills and hands-on fabrication experience.
• Experience working with heavy equipment, aggregate equipment, conveyors, or rock crushers is highly valued.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop practical field solutions.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision.
• Ability to work effectively as a team lead when assigned.
• Willingness to periodically work extended hours when project or customer needs require it.

Additional Information

• Regular travel within the assigned service area is required.
• Overnight travel may be necessary depending on customer needs and field assignments.
• Work schedules may vary based on service demand and may include extended hours.
• Fabrication Field Techs should be prepared for approximately 40-60 hours per week when business needs require.
