Overview

Riley Power group, LLC is a full-service maintenance and capital construction services company headquartered in Rock Hill, SC, working nationwide on challenging construction and maintenance projects in the industrial sector. They are hiring skilled first-class Welders for multiple sites in the US, requiring 4+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Possess welding experience with GMAW-SP, GMAW-P and pass weld tests in all positions IAW NAVSEA requirements.
  • Weld note 18 joints (full pen open root from one side, UT quality).
  • Perform welding processes on carbon steel assemblies to required tolerances.
  • Determine weld sequence and weld parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Verify weld size using weld gauges.
  • Monitor heat input and weld in sequence to minimize weld distortion.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50lbs during an 8-to-12-hour shift.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods during an 8 to 12-hour shift.
  • Occasionally bend, crouch, kneel, and crawl during an 8-to-12-hour shift.
  • Occasionally climb ladders up to 25 feet.
  • Occasionally work in confined spaces with potential extreme temperature, chemical, and radiation exposure.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4+ years of GMAW-P & GMAW-SP experience.
  • High School diploma/GED and/or certification in assigned area preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of precision calibration tools (weld gauges).
  • Ability to operate multiple types of welding equipment.
  • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to work multiple shifts.
  • Willingness to work the schedule set by the client and all overtime.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, technique sheets, and weld symbols.
  • Ability to pass respirator fit-check and wear a respirator as required.
  • Must be clean shaven for fit-check and dawning of respirator.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Flexible and safety-oriented.
  • Experience with the fabrication of submarine and aircraft carrier parts preferred.

  • Weld tests will be X-Ray on site.
  • Acceptance criteria are in accordance with NAVSEA Technical Publication S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248.
