Job Description

Overview

We are currently hiring for a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician with a focus in pipe welding in our Greenville, South Carolina, facility. The Maintenance Technician's main responsibility will be pipe welding and maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and completing preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Welding and fitting pipes using stick and tig welding techniques.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on engines, motors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, mixers, boilers, air compressors, space heaters, silos, storage tanks, dust collectors, pumps, and production machines.
  • Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
  • Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
  • Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools.
  • Pipe fitting, including cutting, threading, and assembling pipes.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical systems, including various types of pumps.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot basic electrical systems.
  • Conduct inspections and identify any issues that may require immediate attention or repairs.
  • Assist outside contractors as instructed by management.
  • Conduct maintenance work and repairs while adhering to safe work practices.
  • Follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment at all times.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience of at least two years OR a two-year industrial maintenance degree in lieu of experience.
  • Proven experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, installation, and pipe fitting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Basic knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and plumbing.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a professional team environment.
  • Proficient in the proper use of hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with safe work practices, including hot-work, lockout/tag-out, and confined space entry.

Additional Information

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
  • Overtime required in the event of emergency breakdowns.
  • Work environment is on site in Greenville, SC. Remote work not offered for this position.
  • Work in an uncontrolled environmental setting where temperatures can be extremely cold, hot or humid.
