Overview

The Container Welder/Fabricator at Republic Services is responsible for repairing, painting, and maintaining containers and roll-off boxes, utilizing various welding and fabrication techniques. Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs and maintenance on front, rear, and roll-off containers.
  • Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
  • Fabricate steel components using a brake and shear.
  • Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
  • Fabricate steel components for hoppers, containers, and compactors.
  • Install lids and wheels on containers.
  • Paint repaired containers.
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete required paperwork.
  • Install company and safety decals on containers and roll-off boxes.
  • Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Certified welder.
  • Advanced knowledge of MIG and stick welders, plasma cutter, and airless paint sprayers.
  • Familiar with basic use of hand tools.
  • Ability to follow directions with minimal supervisory involvement.
  • Minimum of 1 year welding experience or completion of a welding program.
