Overview

The Welder position involves performing primary tasks in the weld department, reporting to the Production Manager. The role requires proficiency in the GMAW welding process and the ability to inspect and correct welds to meet product specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Weld and/or fit assemblies using the GMAW welding process.
  • Set priority of build sequence.
  • Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
  • Perform as built dimensional checks and complete records.
  • Read and correctly interpret mechanical prints, BOM’s, and job travelers.
  • Accurately operate and read measuring devices.
  • Operate forklift to support production.
  • Multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively and independently.
  • Work well with others in a team environment.
  • Train and work in other areas of production in response to production demands.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment following all rules and regulations.
  • Ensure the welding areas are cleaned at the end of all shifts.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience with the GMAW welding process.
  • Familiarity with welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, welding wire, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders.
  • Basic reading, writing, math skills, and ability to interpret parts drawings, BOM’s, and job cards.
  • Ability to read tape measure and measuring devices and perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced job shop manufacturing environment.
  • Forklift operation experience and ability to achieve forklift certification.
  • High School diploma or GED.
