Overview

The Welder C position involves welding metal parts together under direct supervision, performing simple and routine welding tasks using standard procedures and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Welds metal parts together under direct supervision.
  • Performs simple, routine, and repetitive welding tasks.
  • Uses standard procedures, tools, and equipment.
  • Welds components and parts from standard materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by leader or supervisor.

Requirements

  • General knowledge of welding techniques, tools, equipment, and blueprint reading is preferred.
  • Ability to read precision measuring tools is required.
  • Skills may be gained through practical experience and/or on-the-job training.

Additional Information

  • Frequent climbing, bending, twisting and/or lifting approximately 55 pounds (and periodically heavier loads approximately 75 pounds) will be required.
  • All welders must install 60 pounds spools of wire on own welding equipment, as necessary.
  • Performance will be measured on the function/duties described in the position description, accomplishments during the review period, and the methods/work skills used to achieve the goals.
