Overview

Schindler is seeking a 2nd Shift Welder B N in Hanover, PA, to perform various welding tasks on elevator components, contributing to the company's mission of enhancing urban life through safe transportation solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform flat, vertical, overhead and horizontal fillet and tack welds as defined under the CWB requirements.
  • Interpret drawings to determine welding requirements and dimension specifications.
  • Move material to and from workstation.
  • Spot weld structural components.
  • Pass all required CWB weld tests for thickness range of the product.
  • Use fixtures and clamps to stabilize parts during the welding process.
  • Perform pre-work and post-work quality checks to ensure product specifications are met.
  • Remove burrs and sharp edges by grinding or filing.
  • Inspect quality of welds and product dimensions before delivery to the next work area.
  • Make repairs as required.
  • Complete SAP inventory transactions and necessary paperwork.
  • Assist in other areas as needed.

Requirements

  • GED, high school diploma, or equivalent years of experience.
