Overview

Bechtel is seeking a Field Welding Superintendent to lead a workforce services team for a semiconductor manufacturing plant project in New Albany, Ohio. The role involves managing systems and processes to optimize workflows and improve efficiency in welding operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with Discipline Superintendents and the Lead Field Welding Engineer to validate manpower and welder qualification requirements.
  • Provide direction to Welding General Foremen and Foreman to support welding initiatives across the project.
  • Review weekly scheduled work plans with discipline superintendents to ensure proper welder resources are available.
  • Identify and elevate scheduling concerns to the construction management team.
  • Provide input to weekly production meetings to ensure sufficient welder support is scheduled.
  • Supervise and coordinate daily with direct hire and subcontract representatives on pipe construction activities.
  • Ensure welding commodities, equipment, and consumables are available and staged in assigned areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
  • Extensive working knowledge of construction planning, monitoring and control.
  • Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
  • Extensive technical knowledge and experience in welding operations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite including word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Experience managing union craft Heavy industrial US direct hire construction.
  • Knowledge of the Project Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) Handbook and Bechtel Core Processes.
  • Knowledge of safety and relevant OSHA requirements and regulations.
  • Knowledge of Bechtel's 'Zero Accidents' safety program.
  • Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
