Overview

Our client, an established structural and miscellaneous steel contractor, is seeking experienced Structural Steel Erectors / Field Installers / Welders to support commercial field installation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Erect and install structural steel components, including beams, columns, channels, angles, and related assemblies.
  • Install miscellaneous metals such as stairs, railings, ladders, platforms, lintels, embeds, supports, and other fabricated steel items.
  • Perform field welding, fitting, and modifications as required by site conditions and project drawings.
  • Bolt, connect, align, level, and secure structural steel during installation.
  • Read and interpret structural drawings, erection plans, shop drawings, and installation details.
  • Perform field layout and verify measurements and dimensions prior to installation.
  • Operate boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other equipment used for steel erection and field installation.
  • Coordinate installation activities with field supervision, project management, site personnel, and other trades.
  • Follow OSHA standards, fall-protection requirements, and all applicable job-site safety procedures.
  • Complete field installations accurately, safely, and in accordance with project specifications.

Requirements

  • Previous structural steel erection, ironwork, or miscellaneous metals installation experience required.
  • Strong field fitting, welding, and fabrication skills.
  • Ability to read construction drawings, structural plans, and steel erection details.
  • Experience working with both bolted and welded steel connections.
  • Comfortable working at heights, from aerial lifts, and in active commercial construction environments.
  • Dependable transportation and the ability to report to varying project locations.
  • Willingness to travel locally or regionally as project needs require.
  • Welding certifications, OSHA training, and aerial-lift or equipment certifications are preferred.
