Overview

As a Production Associate, you support the manufacturing of small metal parts used in Toyota vehicles by operating production lines, handling materials, and performing quality checks. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, pays close attention to detail, and is comfortable with physical, fast-paced work.

Responsibilities

• Operate production lines and equipment in a stamping and welding environment to manufacture small metal parts for automotive applications.
• Push carts of product and move materials throughout the facility to keep production flowing smoothly.
• Perform lifting and general labor tasks, including repeatedly lifting items of 30+ lbs and occasionally lifting materials overhead.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure all parts and products meet quality standards.
• Demonstrate a strong level of initiative by proactively supporting production needs and taking on additional tasks as requested.
• Maintain excellent attendance and arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
• Support crane operations by assisting with moving and organizing large metal coils, working either independently or with another team member.
• Conduct quality checks on fuel lids to ensure they meet established standards and perform general production tasks associated with this process.
• Act as a link between production and shipping by double-checking products, building pallets according to customer orders, and coordinating workflow as needed.
• Work with a team to monitor productivity and quality, providing support and guidance as required.
• Set up stamping and welding machines, adjust machine settings, and perform basic troubleshooting when issues arise.
• Carry out quality process audits on small metal parts, primarily through visual inspection, and perform minor dimensional checks when necessary to determine if further dimensional auditing is required.
• Read diagrams and follow instructions to verify that team members are following correct processes and job duties.
• Report audit findings to the quality team using an iPad, documenting press, weld, conveyance, and quality process results.
• Walk the production floor regularly to observe operations, identify issues, and provide timely feedback to team members when necessary.
• Use lathe and grinding machines to sharpen welding tips for the welding department, ensuring tools are properly prepared for production.
• Perform general manufacturing, warehouse, and material handling tasks such as assembly, order selecting, inventory work, picking, packing, loading, and operating pallet jacks.
• Interpret and understand all work instructions and complete all necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
• Remain open to other job duties, including machine operation and cross-training in different areas of the facility as requested.
• Collaborate with team members while working at your own station, contributing to a cooperative and supportive production environment.

Requirements

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, ideally in a production facility or warehouse.
• Ability to stand on your feet for 8-10 hours per shift and up to 10+ hours per day when required.
• Ability to lift 30+ lbs repeatedly and lift materials overhead when needed.
• Strong attention to detail for visual inspections and quality checks on metal parts and fuel lids.
• High level of initiative and a 'no job is too small' mindset, willing to take on a variety of tasks.
• Consistent, reliable attendance and the ability to show up on time every day.
• Comfort working with manufacturing and material handling activities such as production, assembly, shipping, receiving, inventory, picking, packing, loading, and general labor.
• Ability to interpret and understand written work instructions and complete related paperwork accurately.
• Willingness to be open to other job duties, including machine operating, as production needs change.
• Ability to work effectively with a team while managing responsibilities at an individual work station.

Additional Information

• This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, TX.
• Shifts typically run 8-10 hours, and you spend most of the day standing and performing physical tasks.
• You work in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
