Job Description
Overview
The Pipefitter Leader will work in the Production Resources Department at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, responsible for guiding pipefitters and ensuring project requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Pass on information to other non-nuclear or nuclear pipefitters about assigned projects.
- Instruct on proper work procedures, methods, tools, and safety related to shop trade skills.
- Ensure that materials, tools, software, and equipment are available for the crew.
- Exercise direct control over students' activities and advise those falling behind.
- Suggest improvements and report disciplinary problems to shop supervisors.
