Overview

Carolina Heavy Steel LLC is a family-owned steel processing and fabrication company based in Ridgeville, SC, founded in 2024. The Welder role is a full-time, on-site position focused on fabricating, assembling, and repairing structural steel components using various welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and repair structural steel components using various welding techniques.
  • Prepare materials and set up welding equipment.
  • Perform quality welds and inspect completed work to meet company and industry standards.
  • Work safely with heavy steel and maintain tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with fabricators, supervisors, and other team members to meet project deadlines.
  • Support blasting and coating operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Welding and Arc Welding for structural steel fabrication.
  • Hands-on experience with MIG Welding, Flux, and TIG Welding in industrial or fabrication environments.
  • Knowledge of materials used in structural steel work, including properties, handling, and preparation.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols accurately.
  • Commitment to safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Experience operating fabrication shop equipment is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in structural steel fabrication or a related field; welding certifications are a plus.
