Overview

The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing diverse duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment while ensuring safety compliance. This role involves leading the maintenance team, scheduling repairs, and collaborating with various departments to enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency repairs and troubleshooting on production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Execute preventive maintenance programs for production equipment and facility systems.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and control systems.
  • Conduct equipment calibrations and ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, drawings, and work orders while maintaining accurate maintenance records.
  • Manage hazardous waste handling and disposal in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and coordinate work performed by external vendors and contractors.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and compliant work environment by following and enforcing safety procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with Engineering, IT, Operations Technology (OT), and production teams on projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, certified trade or equivalent completion of a craft apprenticeship required.
  • 6+ years of advanced mechanical, steam generator, electrical, plumbing, building, HVAC system repair or related experience required.
  • Experience in industrial manufacturing with PLC, CAD, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and electronically controlled equipment is preferred.
  • Management skills and leadership required.
  • Knowledge of 5S/6S techniques and Lean Manufacturing skills.
  • Knowledge of safety practices or Hazwoper training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic math problems and utilize measuring tools.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of Excel spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word, and ability to navigate ERP, CMMS, BMS websites and systems.
  • Intermediate CAD or Solid Works proficiency.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Work Instructions.
  • Technical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing training and/or certifications required.
