Overview

The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb and high-performance floor panels, seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubricates and cleans parts.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work any shift (1, 2 or 3) and weekends as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalency.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related work.
  • Must have English reading and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, understand and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.

  • Certain positions may require the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
  • This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the ITAR and/or the EAR.
