Overview

The Gill Corporation is one of the world's largest manufacturers of honeycomb and high-performance floor panels for aircraft. They are seeking a Maintenance Lead to install, maintain, repair, or rebuild complex machinery and equipment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Disassembles problem equipment and determines extent of repairs necessary.
  • Repairs, refits or replaces worn or defective parts.
  • Troubleshoot various plant equipment and systems.
  • Installs new plant equipment under engineering supervision.
  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools.
  • Manage or participate in the management of the handling, storage and disposal manifesting of hazardous substances or hazardous waste.
  • Repairs electrical equipment.
  • Other essential duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalency.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • Specialized experience with boilers, hydraulics and plumbing.
  • Strong decision-making skills.
  • Valid California Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to drive a forklift, cherry picker (boom lift), and scissor lift.
  • Certain positions may require the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
