Overview

Dempsey Uniform is seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to maintain and optimize equipment in their industrial laundry operation. This full-time position offers a 4-day workweek and opportunities for overtime, contributing to a safe and efficient production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and ladder logic.
  • Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on various industrial equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic, hydraulic, compressed air, steam, and boiler systems.
  • Document maintenance activities, work orders, parts usage, and equipment history in CMMS.
  • Follow all safety policies and OSHA requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
  • Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with equipment installations, facility expansions, and machinery upgrades.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance personnel to resolve equipment issues.
  • Maintain all equipment according to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and other maintenance equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Associate degree, technical diploma, or trade certification in a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including AC/DC motors and controls.
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Proficient in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, compressed air, and boiler systems.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various industrial environments.
