Overview

The Technician/Mechanic II role involves the independent setup and operation of pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and electromechanical assemblies for in-space propulsion applications.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that products perform their proposed functions satisfactorily.
  • Read and interpret documents and use measuring devices to confirm geometries and dimensions.
  • Conduct work in accordance with approved technical data and customer specifications.
  • Set up and use electronic instruments and various measuring instruments.
  • Assemble products and install internal components using appropriate tools.
  • Conduct end-of-line functional testing on valve components and record results.
  • Identify causes for test failures and perform rework as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate parts and part count for each job.
  • Notify supervisor of any equipment that requires repair.
  • Properly handle and dispose of chemicals using required PPE.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a manufacturing/testing environment.
  • Mechanical or electro-mechanical products measurement and testing experience required.
  • Demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude and abilities to function test products.
  • Knowledge/experience with a variety of electronic test equipment.
  • Knowledgeable in high pressure fluids and ability to work with abrasive chemicals and hydraulic fluids.
  • Knowledge of Lean concepts, ESD, FOD control, and personal protective equipment.
  • Effective verbal/written communication skills required.
  • Computer literate, with MS Office experience and basic PC skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

Additional Information

  • Full-time position with a 4-Day Work Week – Monday-Thursday (6:00AM-4:30PM).
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Some travel may be required (5-10%).
  • Position located in Montville, NJ.
