Overview

The Maintenance Tech II position involves repairing and maintaining all recycling facility equipment, including heavy mobile equipment and conveyors, while performing preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain all recycling facility equipment including heavy mobile equipment, conveyors, ballers, and shredders.
  • Install new equipment and perform preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment and industrial recycling equipment.
  • Perform repair work on systems including hydraulics, electronic/electrical systems, and mechanical repairs.
  • Complete work orders and keep detailed notes of repairs performed.
  • Identify necessary parts for repairs and research part/equipment replacements using computers/internet.
  • Work in multiple positions for extended durations, including kneeling, bending, and elevated work.
  • Observe all safety requirements and lead by example in working safely.
  • Give and receive constructive feedback for coaching.
  • Work various shifts if needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by maintenance and operations management.

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years of verifiable experience related to industrial troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of heavy equipment.
  • Ability to balance team and individual responsibilities and build consensus.
  • Work with integrity and uphold organizational values.
  • Must have own basic hand tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Valid State Driver’s License.

Additional Information

  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled production facility.
  • Employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 15 - 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
