Overview

The Maint Tech-Psgr Facilities position is responsible for the installation, renovation, construction, repair, maintenance, and inspection of Passenger Amenities structures for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Ways, Structures & Amenities Division. The role requires a variety of technical skills and the ability to operate heavy equipment while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, renovation, construction, repair, maintenance, and preventative maintenance inspections of bus and rail facilities.
  • Conduct electrical, electronic, mechanical, plumbing, general HVAC, and civil work on passenger amenities.
  • Operate heavy equipment including vehicle-mounted cranes, forklifts, and backhoes.
  • Maintain all equipment to Federal, State, and City Codes.
  • Provide timely responses to maintenance requests.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or certification in Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, or equivalent experience in Facilities Maintenance.
  • Must pass a technical test.
  • Must obtain and maintain relevant certifications and licenses.
  • Valid Drivers License Class-C, and ability to obtain Texas CDL Class-A Restricted within 90 days.
  • Must pass and maintain a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug testing.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work safely and maintain alertness.
  • Excellent customer service skills and effective communication abilities.
  • Ability to work variable shifts and travel to multiple work locations.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to seventy pounds.

  • Works in an environment with exposure to dust, noise, and temperature variations.
  • May be required to work in crowded and tight spaces.
