Overview

Hartung Glass Industries is a fast-growing, full-service glass manufacturer and fabricator serving North America, with a history of innovation dating back to 1924. The Industrial Maintenance Technician role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to support continuous glass manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment such as tempering furnaces and fabrication machinery.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
  • Complete timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor equipment performance and document maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with production teams to schedule work.
  • Follow safety and quality standards.
  • Assist with equipment installation and upgrades.
  • Work with external vendors when needed.
  • Contribute to process improvements and reliability initiatives.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience maintaining and repairing industrial equipment.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical systems and troubleshooting controls.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic and hydraulic systems used in manufacturing.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting; glass or metal industry experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of workplace safety practices and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Basic computer skills for work orders and maintenance documentation.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.
