Overview

Fairmount Automation is hiring Control Panel Wirers/Assemblers at two levels to build critical control panels for U.S. Navy ships. The company has been supplying essential control systems for 30 years and offers opportunities for growth and training in a hands-on electrical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Build and wire control panels and enclosures from schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.
  • Lay out and mount components such as PLCs, relays, breakers, contactors, terminal blocks, and power supplies.
  • Cut, strip, crimp, solder, route, bundle, and label wire to military and customer standards.
  • Check work with meters and continuity tests, and assist in troubleshooting during panel tests.
  • Handle ESD-sensitive electronics correctly and follow documented work instructions.
  • Flag problems early and collaborate with engineering to resolve them.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; lift up to 30 lb.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required for defense work.
  • Level II requires about 2+ years of experience building or wiring industrial control panels or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams and build from them with little supervision for Level II.
  • Experience with meters and continuity or functional testing for Level II.
  • Level I values experience such as electrician's helper, wire harness assembly, or military electrical roles.

Additional Information

  • Day shift, Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week.
  • Overtime available at 1.5X base pay.
  • Paid training toward IPC soldering and wire-harness certifications.
