Overview

As a Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanic at Sea Box, you will be responsible for the proactive maintenance, diagnostic testing, and repair of the manufacturing facility’s mobile and heavy equipment fleet. Your primary focus will be on minimizing downtime and ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scheduled inspections, fluid changes, lubrications, and safety checks on forklifts, cranes, and transport trucks.
  • Use advanced computerized diagnostic tools and multimeters to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Disassemble, repair, and reassemble heavy equipment components, including engines, transmissions, brake systems, steering mechanisms, and hoisting gears.
  • Inspect, adjust, and repair wire ropes, sheaves, limit switches, and hydraulic systems specific to overhead and mobile industrial cranes.
  • Accurately log maintenance activities, parts usage, and repair times.
  • Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace and ensure all repairs adhere to safety regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a trade or technical school program in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Technology is highly preferred.
  • 3–7 years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing heavy-duty trucks, forklifts, or cranes in an industrial, manufacturing, or fleet setting.
  • Strong background in reading and interpreting electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Proficiency with diesel/gas engines, drivelines, and mobile equipment electrical systems.
  • Ability to actively identify and report safety hazards.
