Overview

At Johnson & Johnson, we believe health is everything. We are searching for an Area Mechanic to work in San Angelo, TX, focusing on maintenance support for production equipment in a union environment under a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete maintenance support including installation, diagnosis, troubleshooting, adjustments, repair, preventive and emergency maintenance.
• Work on all equipment, such as hydraulic components, electric motors, printers, etc.
• Record and maintain all critical data and documentation.
• Focus on continuous improvement and maximum efficiency from the machinery.
• Coordinate, instruct, advise, and train others as needed.
• Read, interpret, and follow work instructions and training materials.
• Diagnose and identify equipment failures within the entire system.
• Maintain area support equipment as required.
• Operate all portable power tools and hand tools in the assigned production area.
• Maintain accurate record keeping via computer management systems.
• Utilize trade knowledge for leading a continuous improvement program.
• Work as a member of the Ethicon Performance Excellence, Manufacturing Equipment Excellence, or LEAN team.
• Comply with all applicable quality management system, environmental, safety and occupational health policies.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Computer knowledge in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of PLCs and automated equipment is preferred.
• Candidates must take and pass the WorkKeys Assessment.

Additional Information

• This position requires candidates to be amenable to a day shift schedule for 6 to 9 months for training and transition to night shift after training is completed.
• The position is located in San Angelo, Texas, United States of America.
