Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing skilled maintenance, fabrication, overhaul, and repair of mechanical equipment in water and wastewater facilities. This role requires independent problem diagnosis and repair facilitation, ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Review system designs, specifications, and products, and recommend changes in mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems and recommend corrective actions based on mechanical repair practices.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repair work on water/wastewater facilities and equipment.
  • Fabricate and machine repair parts for equipment and weld various materials.
  • Operate lathes, mill/drill presses, welders, and other metal working tools.
  • Locate leaks and detect defects in water/wastewater equipment and machinery.
  • Monitor and validate work practices for quality control and safety standards.
  • Train entry level crew members on safety methods and standards.
  • Input and gather data from the Supervisory Control Data Acquisition system (SCADA) and run reports as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a water and/or wastewater treatment facility.
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
  • Must obtain a State of Georgia CDL Class B License within six months of employment.
