Overview

Donaldson is committed to solving the world’s most complex filtration challenges and is looking for a TIG Welder in Dixon, IL. This role involves performing TIG welding on various materials while adhering to production schedules and ensuring quality in the welding process.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to production schedule
  • Reads, assembles, and welds using TIG and GTAW welding techniques from blueprints
  • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded
  • Monitors welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged
  • Sets up to 250 Amp, 32 Volt, 400 IPM wire speed
  • Uses .045 - .052 metal core wire using 90/10 gas
  • Grinds and wire wheels product to clean smooth surfaces
  • Welds components that are vertical, flat, or overhead
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area
  • Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year welding experience
  • Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments
  • Welding certification per AMS-STD-1595A preferred
  • 2 years+ welding experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing capabilities and processes preferred
  • Enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work preferred
  • NADCAP Certification Level II Inspector per Military Standard 271 preferred
  • NAVSEA Certification per S9074-AQ-GIB-010/248 preferred
