Overview

The TIG Welder II position involves layout, measurement, and alignment of metal work pieces prior to welding, ensuring quality and adherence to welding codes. AMETEK, Inc. is a global provider of industrial technology solutions with a commitment to safety and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Layout, measure, and align metal work pieces prior to welding.
  • Cut and deburr metal components.
  • Assess welds to ensure they are clean and free of error.
  • Follow current Standard Work with accountability for quality.
  • Identify out-of-standard and nonconforming conditions.
  • Work with Team Lead/Supervisor to eliminate waste in workflow.
  • Propose ideas to improve safety, quality, throughput, and teamwork.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area following 5S methods.
  • Continuously learn new job skills to improve effectiveness.
  • Perform work according to area and AMETEK procedures.
  • Execute standard work with support on complex tasks.
  • Operate Value Stream workstation.
  • Fit, setup, and operate tools and equipment necessary for standard work.
  • Proficient with TIG welding and standard weld qualifications.
  • Assess and resolve simple problems in execution of standard work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years' experience.
  • Ability to read and write in English.
  • Basic computer literacy using Microsoft Windows.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use basic measurement equipment.
  • Ability to use various hand tools.
  • Stooping, kneeling, and standing for long periods.
  • Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
