Overview

The Pre - TDP Trainee position at Gerber Collision & Glass offers a valuable opportunity for hands-on experience in the automotive industry, working alongside experienced technicians to gain insight into auto body repair. This role serves as a 30-day trial to qualify for the 18-month Technician Development Program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing basic auto body repairs under supervision.
  • Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment for safety and efficiency.
  • Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects on time.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED preferred.
  • Trade/Vocational school graduates preferred.
  • Some on-the-job experience is preferred.
  • I-CAR Gold Class preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
  • Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team.
  • Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools is preferred.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace.
