Overview

The Senior Mechanical Engineer – Semi Conductor is responsible for mechanical engineering design and technical execution for a new semiconductor facility in Arizona, focusing on mechanical systems and equipment associated with UPW, WWTP, ZLD, utilities, and process support systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical engineering design development for a new build semiconductor plant.
  • Develop and review mechanical layouts and equipment arrangement drawings.
  • Create piping design, isometrics, and pipe specifications.
  • Select equipment and prepare data sheets for various mechanical components.
  • Conduct material selection and determine corrosion allowances.
  • Perform mechanical calculations including pipe sizing and equipment sizing.
  • Review equipment design and calculations from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure compliance with owner specifications and applicable US codes.
  • Interface with other disciplines to ensure integrated design.
  • Support vendor technical evaluations and equipment selection.
  • Review vendor drawings for compliance with specifications.
  • Provide technical input during procurement and fabrication activities.
  • Support constructability reviews and field engineering activities.
  • Participate in HAZOP, safety, and design reviews.
  • Provide mechanical engineering support during construction.
  • Respond to RFIs and evaluate field changes.
  • Support redline markups and as-built documentation.
  • Conduct mechanical system walkdowns and punch list resolution.
  • Support system turnover, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Act as a mechanical technical authority for various systems.
  • Mentor junior mechanical engineers and review their deliverables.
  • Coordinate with client engineering teams and vendors.
  • Report progress, risks, and technical issues to the Engineering Manager.
