Overview

At Sabre Industries, we connect and power America’s communities with world-class utility and telecom solutions. The Welder/Fitter A position involves performing production within prescribed codes and specifications, primarily using the Flux Cored Arc Welding process to assemble pole components.

Responsibilities

  • Use the Flux Cored Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts.
  • Work in the Large Pole department on individual fitter stations to assemble pole assemblies.
  • Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed for assembly.
  • Use measuring tools to measure distances and angles accurately.
  • Cut steel using plasma and oxy-fuel torches.
  • Use motorized grinders and drills to assist in assembly.
  • Adjust welding machines to achieve desired results.
  • Finish weld various products to keep the production moving.
  • Perform visual inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Use overhead cranes to load finished poles for transportation.
  • Assist and instruct other welders and fitters as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic shop mathematics including addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication, and decimals.
  • Proficiency in reading complex prints and specifications.
  • Ability to properly use a weld gauge.
  • Read and write.
