Overview

Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Fincantieri Marine Group, is hiring a Steel Fitter Foreman for their Sturgeon Bay location. This 1st shift role involves overseeing steelworker activities related to ship construction and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate outside steelworker department activities for new ship construction, renovation, repair, and maintenance projects.
  • Provide on-site direction by monitoring work progress and ensuring quality standards.
  • Read and interpret shipbuilding drawings and specifications to determine material needs.
  • Plan and oversee steel fitting and structural fabrication activities.
  • Coordinate workforce assignments and monitor production schedules.
  • Plan activities and overtime as needed to meet project demands.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of steel fitting methods and structural assembly.
  • Ability to interpret structural drawings and quality requirements.
  • Strong understanding of shipboard steel fitting and fabrication processes.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must adhere to ISO and OSHA policies and have high safety awareness.
  • 2 years of steel fitting or shipfitting experience required.
  • Journeyman, Technical or associate's degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Have or are willing to obtain OSHA 30 certification.

Additional Information

  • This is a 1st shift role, Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 4:00pm.
  • Domestic travel may be required.
