Overview

The Tig Welder II is responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products according to customer specifications. The role requires interpretation of mechanical drawings and includes responsibilities such as process inspection and welding equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.
  • Conduct process inspection, certification, and documentation.
  • Maintain welding equipment.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in various forms of welding.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints and instructions.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in welding techniques.
  • Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
