Overview

Lummus Ag Solutions, a global manufacturer of agricultural machinery, parts, and equipment, is seeking a skilled MIG Welder to fit, fabricate, and weld metal components and assemblies. The position requires interpreting production drawings and producing high-quality welds that meet engineering specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, shop drawings, production routings, and welding symbols.
  • Fit, align, position, and secure metal components before welding.
  • Perform MIG welding on components and assemblies used in agricultural equipment.
  • Set up and adjust welding equipment for varying metal types and thicknesses.
  • Select appropriate welding wire and shielding gas based on material specifications.
  • Produce high-quality welds in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions.
  • Maintain dimensional tolerances and verify completed work against engineering drawings.
  • Fabricate parts and machinery from metal stock according to specifications.
  • Safely operate overhead cranes and transporters to move large components.
  • Use various tools to prepare, cut, and finish materials.
  • Inspect welds and fabricated components for defects and quality.
  • Monitor fit-up and welding sequence to minimize distortion.
  • Identify and report equipment problems and quality concerns.
  • Accurately record daily labor and production activity.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain clean work areas.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to resolve production issues.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
