Overview

Athens Services is seeking a skilled Truck Welder to join their team, responsible for welding repairs and fabrications for their fleet. The role involves operating welding equipment and ensuring vehicles are maintained in top condition.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual and automated welding equipment to repair vehicles and equipment.
  • Fabricate parts and components as needed.
  • Perform safety inspections and checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Conduct all position welding and examine welds for depth and penetration.
  • Complete required paperwork for vehicle and equipment repairs.
  • Attend and successfully complete all safety and compliance training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Trade School Certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in welding: MIG, Arc Welding, and fabrication.
  • Familiarity with DOT CHP repair processes and controls for Drivers Vehicle Inspection Reports.
  • Effective communication skills regarding welding issues and repairs.
  • Ability to perform tasks safely in accordance with OSHA regulations.
  • Professional behavior at all times.
  • Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License.
  • Acceptable Driver's Record.
  • Must possess personal tools.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
