Overview

The DDA-Rework Operator Trainee position involves preparing and x-raying parts under supervision, familiarizing with customer specifications, and salvaging castings by removing defects. The role requires interaction with various departments to ensure quality and efficiency in the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Accurate scanning in and out of jobs and proper reporting of processed quantities.
  • Wear proper safety equipment and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Understand customer requirements and internal scrap challenges.
  • Review and inspect all material used, incorporating self-inspection.
  • Complete, date, and sign-off on all routing information.
  • Perform job tasks efficiently according to given standards.
  • Become familiar with C.M. Procedures M13 Marking and SP 402 (1-5) DDA.
  • Sort parts by melt, dash, or serial numbers and verify quantities.
  • Remove flash, sand, metal, defects, or other debris from castings.
  • Serialize parts according to C.M. procedure and serialization instructions.
  • X-ray parts to an approved technique and C.M. procedure SP402.
  • Inspect and analyze casting for visual defects and make repair or scrap decisions.
  • Review work instructions, inspection plans, weld maps, and blueprints.
  • Perform and verify calibrations as needed.
  • Communicate with X-Ray, Final Inspection, and Quality departments about defects.
  • Report any problems or discrepancies to management.
  • Provide oversight to x-ray trainees by verifying and signing off on x-ray shots.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Reading proficiency of work instructions.
  • 40 hours documented formal training and minimum 400 hours on-the-job training.
  • Experience with blending, drilling, measurement tools, and welding process knowledge preferred.
  • Sufficient practical experience as an RT trainee.
  • Microsoft Suite experience.
