Overview

The Heavy Mobile Equipment Repairer performs maintenance and repair work on various equipment, including diesel engines and cranes, while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. This role requires technical skills and the ability to work in challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and repair work on floating plant and land plant.
  • Inspects and troubleshoots equipment, renewing brake linings and bands.
  • Assists in the repair of diesel marine engines and ancillary equipment.
  • Cuts and threads pipe, makes fittings, and operates various machinery.
  • Performs maintenance and repairs on all buildings and grounds.
  • Performs maintenance on vessels under 65 feet.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must complete a suitability or fitness determination via background investigation.
  • Completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination is required.
  • Possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Subject to a one year probationary period.
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to work around heavy equipment in various weather conditions.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
