Overview

Planned Companies is hiring an On Call Maintenance Technician to ensure the maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment at client properties in Brooklyn, New York. The role requires a valid driver's license and involves various maintenance tasks to keep properties clean, secure, and welcoming.

Responsibilities

• Ensure preventative maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and repair as required.
• Check boiler and hot water heaters for leaks and report to management.
• Schedule extermination procedures as necessary.
• Maintain social areas or amenities as needed.
• Assure walkways are clear and/or salted during inclement weather.
• Inventory mechanical/maintenance supplies.
• Troubleshoot tripped breakers, leaking pipes, and water intrusion.
• Execute general repair of the building including doors, filter changing, installation of floor covering, and light carpentry.
• Maintain a log of all operating equipment inspections.
• Inspect rooftop exhaust fans, cooling tower, and domestic water drives.
• Ensure trash removal and maintain organized trash areas.
• Replace light fixtures, branch switches, receptacles, and sockets when necessary.
• Adjust locks and latches on doors, windows, and lockers.
• Remove and replace all blown light bulbs.
• Perform painting and plastering as required.
• Maintain daily records of work performed.
• Report necessary work to be done by outside mechanics and maintain a record when such work is completed.
• Assist building management with all projects and other job duties as requested.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong plumbing, electric, and carpentry experience.
• Solid interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills; bilingual preferred.
• Good listener and able to accurately transmit information.
• Reliable, highly organized, with attention to detail.
• Courteous, friendly, hardworking, and professional.
• Eager to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
• Extremely dependable and reliable, must be flexible to work during emergency situations.
