Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic at Mount Sinai Brooklyn is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties, including inspections, repairs, and renovations within the healthcare facility. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent experience and offers a competitive hourly wage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspection of major utilities systems and document results.
  • Revise existing HVAC system operations through the Computerized Building Management System.
  • Respond to fire system alarms and reset the system from the control panel.
  • Repair hospital beds, stretchers, well chairs, fixtures, doors, and locks.
  • Perform incremental unit coils cleaning and filters replacement.
  • Assist with all phases of renovation and miscellaneous projects.
  • Survey areas to troubleshoot mechanical, structural, or plumbing problems.
  • Inspect and repair air conditioners and heating systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or trade/vocational diploma, or completion of a recognized training program.
  • 7 years related maintenance mechanic experience in the healthcare industry preferred.
  • Experience in performing building maintenance and construction.
  • Experience in operating Computerized Building Management Systems.
  • Course in A/C, plumbing, machine shop, and other related areas helpful.
  • Must possess or obtain G-71 Certificate of Fitness from FDNY within 90 days.
  • Ability to follow clearly defined procedures and practices.
