Overview

KBR sustains the operational well-being of U.S. armed forces at Djibouti, Africa, Camp Lemonnier Naval Base, providing various services including program management and safety services. The Fire Suppression Technician NICET III position involves servicing, repairing, and inspecting Fire Alarm systems while ensuring compliance with NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing, inspecting and testing alarm and related systems to manufactured specifications.
  • Performing on site emergency troubleshooting, programming and repairs of Fire Alarm System.
  • Identifying code and non-conformance issues.
  • Analyzing blueprints, schematics and drawings of Fire Alarm Systems and other related electrical systems.
  • Diagnosing problems or failures in assigned systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair.
  • Inspecting Fire Alarm, Security Systems and their components for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying and performing necessary repairs and performing preventative maintenance.
  • Installing Fire Alarm Systems components as assigned.
  • Carrying all Fire Alarm keys, radio, and telephone while on base and being on a rotational call service.
  • Troubleshooting/repair of Fire Alarm Systems.

Requirements

  • Minimum two to three years of experience in the Fire Protection Life Safety Industry including Fire Alarm Installation & Programming.
  • National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
  • Knowledge of functions associated with the testing of Fire Alarms Systems Programming, access control, and security systems.
  • Must possess a secret clearance or be in position to obtain one.
  • Complete knowledge of low voltage wiring, especially troubleshooting.
  • High level of knowledge & application of the National Fire Alarm Code.
  • Must be thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.
  • Must not be afraid of heights with the ability to be over 50 ft. in the air.
  • Must have computer and good communication skills.
  • Must be fluent in English.
  • Must possess passport book with at least 12 months of remaining validity and with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
  • Must possess driver's license with at least 6 months of remaining validity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment with multiple interruptions/distractions.
  • Excellent customer relations, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
