Overview

Hiring experienced Welders/Fabricators for second-shift openings in Cook County and Champaign County, Illinois. This is a hands-on opportunity for welders who take pride in precise fit-up, clean welds, and quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
  • Fit, align, and fabricate components to specification.
  • Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Inspect completed welds and perform grinding, finishing, and rework as needed.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain an organized work area.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of TIG welding experience, along with MIG and sheet metal fabrication experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and work independently from drawings.
  • Strong attention to weld quality, fit-up, and dimensional accuracy.
  • Ability to complete a practical weld test.
  • AWS certifications preferred.

  • Positions are available in either Cook County or Champaign County; applicants do not need to commute between locations.
  • Compensation is $27-$30/hour based on experience and demonstrated welding ability, with opportunities for increases based on performance.
