Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Mechanical Lead or Mechanical Technical Specialist on Power, Energy, and Chemical Industry Projects.
  • Manage Project Schedules and Budgets and provide weekly reports to communicate project status, issues, and needs.
  • Specify, evaluate bids, and perform vendor document review for process equipment such as pressure vessels, tanks, pumps, and heat exchangers.
  • Perform calculations for equipment and piping.
  • Specify Materials for process and utility piping services.
  • Attend client, vendor, and internal team project meetings.
  • Perform field surveys to collect required field data and assist with interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications in the field.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and review work of a small staff of engineers to accomplish objectives.
  • Mentor younger engineers, leading by example and supporting department development initiatives and standards creation/review/update.
  • Evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Estimate resource requirements of new project proposals in support of business development.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field.
  • 15+ years of experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in the Power, Refining, or Chemical Industries.
  • Experience applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to ensure compliance with design basis, and safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills for coordination with internal team members, Vendors, and Clients.
  • Willingness to learn and work on a variety of tasks within multiple industries.
  • Willingness to travel and work in office and field environments.
  • Strong desire for continuous improvement and career growth.
