At Northrop Grumman, employees work on revolutionary systems that impact lives globally. The Mechanical Engineering group is hiring an Engineer Aeronautical - Level 4 in Chandler, AZ.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, or test of complex materials, structural components, or functional systems.
  • Use advanced structural and product design engineering software tools.
  • Study basic design concepts and criteria for complex materials, components, or functional systems with minimal guidance.
  • Apply engineering principles to adapt or improve upon heritage features from previous successful designs.
  • Provide quality customer service and seek new sources of information to meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to seek creative and different ways to accomplish outcomes.
  • Perform complex engineering design, development, analysis, and/or test activities to support assigned projects.
  • Develop test programs to evaluate system elements, such as materials and structural components.
  • Manage test activities and test article fabrication, including documentation of results.
  • Determine engineering tasks required for project planning and execution.
  • Interact with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters.
  • Perform research for related engineering projects.
  • Represent the organization as a contact on projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of related engineering experience, OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience, OR a PhD in STEM with 4 years of related engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering preferred.
  • Active Secret Security Clearance or higher preferred.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills preferred.
  • Knowledge in carbon composites preferred.
  • NX or other CAD experience preferred.
  • GD&T training preferred.
  • Ability to present technical content to peers and project groups preferred.
  • Familiarity with Matlab, Python, and Linux preferred.
