Overview

The Autodesk Inventor Drafter position is a full-time role with a Department of Defense contractor in Plano, TX, focusing on creating detailed drawings for auto mechanical devices used by the military. The role requires precision in drafting and collaboration with design originators.

Responsibilities

• Utilize Autodesk Inventor to create and edit 3D mechanical design and CAD documents.
• Perform 3D part modeling and mechanical CAD design.
• Engage in parametric modeling and product design & development.
• Create assembly models and sheet metal designs.
• Ensure designs are suitable for manufacturability (DFM).
• Develop engineering drawings with GD&T.
• Participate in prototype development and mechanical drafting.
• Implement CAD design automation for weldments and structural frames.

Requirements

• Must have more than one year of recent Autodesk Inventor experience.
• Must be a US Citizen and capable of passing a Department of Defense (DOD) government Clearance Background Check.
• Must have 1 year of Autodesk Inventor experience, including internships and school projects.
• Must be accustomed to working with established standards for 3D model files and complex drawings.
• Good knowledge of the drafting field is required.
• Recent college grads with Autodesk Inventor and CAD experience are encouraged to apply.
