Overview

The Welder I position at Shur-Co LLC in Yankton, SD involves laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated aluminum components. This entry-level role requires physical capability and attention to detail while ensuring quality and safety in the welding process.

Responsibilities

  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Direct setup personnel in layout, align, and fitting of components.
  • Set up equipment and weld parts using various welding techniques.
  • Complete daily records documenting completed work tasks.
  • Report any nonconformance of components or machine functions to the department manager.
  • Utilize engineering drawings to weld components that meet requirements.

Requirements

  • Ability to pass forklift certification test and drive a forklift.
  • Demonstrated strong attendance and dependability.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • High level of attention to detail and focus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members.
