Impulse Space

Overview

Impulse is looking for a Spacecraft Integration Technician to join their team in Redondo Beach, where you will participate in the final assembly, integration, and testing of flight hardware for a new space vehicle as they approach their first launches.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, install, and test flight-ready hardware.
• Use precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers.
• Perform hands-on operations with sub-assemblies.
• Read and interpret technical drawings and follow detailed work instructions.
• Perform work according to procedures, specifications, and test instructions, sometimes in an ambiguous environment.
• Use various mechanical tools without instruction.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers to develop and document activities/procedures.
• Ensure all production services are performed on time, safely, and in a professional manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 5+ years of experience in hardware assembly, test, and/or installation of flight hardware.
• Skill in operating and manipulating machinery and various hand and power tools requiring manual dexterity.
• Demonstrated ability in reading/understanding technical drawings, manuals, and reports.
• Experience working in ESD sensitive integration facilities.
• Experience mating/de-mating/handling of flight and non-flight cables and harness.
• Experience using calibrated tooling such as torque wrenches and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment.
• Proficient with computers and the ability to use MS Office and Manufacturing Execution Software.
• Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with engineering and production.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn.

Additional Information

• Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be able to climb ladders and be comfortable working in tight spaces.
• Limited travel may be required (approximately 10%).
